High-lustre chrome is certainly the classic metal surface for the furnishing sector. The reflecting, cold metallic lustre is noted for its great hardness and scratch resistance, and gives each structural steel part optimum protection against corrosion for interior use. This surface is not suitable for outside use (patio or garden) or for use in a tropical climate, here other materials have to be deployed.
Care tip: The high-lustre chrome surface cannot be attacked by normal household acids and alkalines and is easily cared for with a damp cloth. It is advisable to occasionally treat with a conventional chrome polish.

Mat chrome and satinised nickel are matt-finished, gleaming silver surfaces. Their method of production is based on that of the high-lustre varieties. After electroplating, these pieces are deadened by manual brushing. Here, the matt chrome surface attains a much more delicate matt sheen due to the thickness of the coating. The nickel varieties can be more strikingly brushed and they match the look of pure brushed stainless steel more closely thanks to their lustre and fine cognac-coloured sheen.
Care tip: Matt surfaces are roughened surfaces and are thus more vulnerable to attack by liquids. If acids are not removed immediately, they can do irreparable damage. Otherwise, they can easily be removed with a damp cloth. We recommend treating with Draenert Metal Care.

The high-lustre gold surface is a 24-carat industrial gold-plate. Its warm colour is captivating. Thanks to its resistance to tarnishing, the gold-plated surface is the preferable alternative to polished brass surfaces.
Care tip: It is most important to clean carefully with a soft cloth only. Abrasive cleaning agents (e.g. chrome cleaning agents) or hard cloths can damage the paper-thin gold coating and allow the silver-coloured nickel to show through. Soiling should be removed with water and washing-up liquid.

The matt chrome and nickel-satin surfaces of our chair frames are also produced in an electroplating process. The form of the complex substructures, however, do not allow mechanical matting as described above.
Care tip: Easily cared for with non-abrasive cleaning agents. Do not use solvents or thinners on the nickel-satin surfaces as they have a protective coating of varnish.

Some of the models in our range of products are made of V2A steel tube. Surface finishing to prevent corrosion is not necessary. The V2A comes in a matt brushed version. For the table supports of our dining table bases we use brushed V2A sheets.
Care tip: Metal parts can be easily cleaned with any conventional non-abrasive cleaning agent. We recommend regular treatment with Draenert V2A Care.

The black metal parts of our tables come with a plastic coating. The related adhesive pieces for gluing on the glass are made of black anodised aluminium. This means that in almost every model the glued surface is also black.
Care tip: Easily cared for with all non-abrasive cleaning agents. Solvents or thinners must not be used on coated surfaces.
